Steel & Pressure Equipment

Pressure vessels, tanks and heavy fabricated steel — the equipment where welding qualification, NDT and dimensional control decide acceptance.

Industries

Pressure vessels, tanks and heavy fabricated steel are accepted on welding qualification, NDT and dimensional control — the disciplines that decide whether a welded structure is sound. These are made to order, and a rejected weld is far cheaper to fix in the shop than after erection.

PSPP inspects pressure vessels, structural steel and heavy fabrications against ASME VIII, EN 13445/PED, AWS/EN welding codes and the client's specification, witnessing weld fit-up, NDT, heat treatment, dimensional checks and pressure testing.

Challenges

Weld quality and qualification

Heavy fabrication depends on qualified WPS/PQR and welders, verified through fit-up, visual and NDT at each stage.

NDT coverage and interpretation

RT, UT, MT and PT results must be witnessed and interpreted against the acceptance code, not accepted on a summary sheet.

Heat treatment and hardness

PWHT and hardness control are essential for thick-wall and alloy fabrication and are easy to miss without verification.

Dimensional control

Large fabrications must meet tolerance for fit-up at site, confirmed by dimensional inspection before shipment.

Our Solutions

Welding inspection

WPS/PQR and welder-qualification review with fit-up and visual weld inspection.

NDT witnessing

Independent witness and review of RT/UT/MT/PT against the acceptance criteria.

Heat-treatment & hardness verification

Review of PWHT charts and hardness results for thick-wall and alloy work.

Dimensional & pressure testing

Dimensional verification and witness of hydrostatic or pneumatic testing before release.
