Petrochemical & Chemical

Refining and chemical process plant: columns, reactors, heat exchangers and the process piping that ties them together, where containment is the whole safety case.

Refinery process columns and pipework
Industries

A petrochemical complex is a containment problem: columns, reactors, drums, heat exchangers and the process piping that ties them together all hold hazardous fluids at temperature and pressure, and the safety case rests on every joint being sound. Inspection at the fabricator is where that is proven.

PSPP inspects static and rotating process equipment against ASME VIII, EN 13445/PED, TEMA and client specifications, witnessing pressure, NDT and performance tests and checking that material and weld records are complete before shipment.

Challenges

Process containment integrity

Reactors, columns and exchangers must be leak-tight for the life of the plant; a missed weld or wrong material is a future loss of containment.

Exotic and clad materials

Stainless, duplex, nickel-alloy and clad construction demand PMI, hardness and heat-treatment verification beyond ordinary carbon steel.

Rotating equipment reliability

Compressors and pumps are single points of failure whose mechanical running and performance tests must be witnessed.

Documentation and traceability

A large complex generates thousands of MTCs, NDT reports and dossiers that have to reconcile before commissioning.

Our Solutions

Static equipment inspection

Shop inspection of vessels, columns and exchangers with weld, NDT and hydrostatic test witnessing.

PMI and material verification

Positive material identification and review of certificates for alloy and clad construction.

Rotating-equipment test witnessing

Mechanical running and performance test attendance for compressors and pumps.

Documentation review

Review of MTCs, NDT records and final dossiers against EN 10204 3.1/3.2 requirements.
